As a dedicated Bill Fulton composer arranger showcase, the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music Concert Jazz Orchestra delivered an electrifying live performance of Bill Fulton’s signature big band chart, “Ozmosis,” at the Gerald R. Daniel Recital Hall.
Event Overview and Performance Highlights
Under the direction of renowned educator and trumpeter Jeff Jarvis, this special concert brought together two premier collegiate ensembles: the award-winning Studio Jazz Band and the Concert Jazz Orchestra. Both groups displayed world-class precision, dynamic ensemble phrasing, and soulful improvisation.
Before taking the stage for this program, the Studio Jazz Band earned first-place honors at the prestigious Western State Jazz Festival. In addition, the Concert Jazz Orchestra prepared for an extensive joint tour with the acclaimed vocal jazz ensemble Pacific Standard Time, heading to the Next Generation Jazz Festival. Special guest vocalist Jenny Swoish also joined the Studio Jazz Band for a standout featured performance.
