The engagement connected Fulton with the West Coast Pops Orchestra, a Southern California nonprofit that presents community concerts. The organization also supports music education and performances for young audiences.
The venue was McGaugh Elementary School at 1698 Bolsa Ave. The performance added another Southern California location to the ensemble’s concert calendar.
McGaugh Elementary School sits on Bolsa Avenue in Seal Beach. The school maintains arts and music programs alongside its regular educational activities.
The 2016 engagement
An invitation listed vocalist Stephanie Wall, who had performed with the orchestra the previous summer. Music director Kevin Mayse was preparing the program. The concert was scheduled for 4 p.m., with a tentative rehearsal from noon to 2:45 p.m. The note said payment would match the prior summer’s Walnut Village concert.
