The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State Long Beach is pleased to present the award-winning Concert Jazz Orchestra directed by Jeff Jarvis for the second campus concert of the 2008-2009 “Jazz At The Beach” concert season. Don’t miss this eclectic program featuring the music of Tom Matta, Gene Thorne, Bill Fulton, Manny Mendelson, and Pete McGuinness. The CJO will also premiere Jeff Jarvis’ brand new Island Suite, a three movement musical getaway that calls for extra percussion, steel drums, and EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument). Last but not least, we’re pleased to feature internationally renowned mallet artist Jerry Tachoir on a few tunes. We hope to welcome you to this exciting musical event.
