Bill Fulton Cartoon Medley credits include his work on music from I Am Weasel, the Cartoon Network animated series for which Fulton composed music. I Am Weasel on Cartoon Medley
I Am Weasel began as part of Cartoon Network’s Cow and Chicken and later became its own series. Fulton worked extensively as a composer for the program. His credits include the main and end title music as well as music for numerous individual episodes.
The I Am Weasel theme takes its musical starting point from the traditional tune “Pop Goes the Weasel.” Fulton and Richard Pursel transformed that familiar material into the distinctive opening associated with the animated series. Pursel contributed the lyrics, while Fulton’s music helped establish the show’s energetic and comic musical identity.

A 38-Track Cartoon Network Collection
Released in 1999, Cartoon Medley assembled music from many generations of animated television. The collection opens and closes with short and long versions of Raymond Scott’s “Powerhouse.” Between them are themes and songs associated with both contemporary Cartoon Network productions and classic animated series.
The track list includes music from Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, Josie and the Pussycats, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Cow and Chicken, Ed, Edd n Eddy, 2 Stupid Dogs, Underdog, Speed Racer, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Cartoon Planet, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound.
As a result, the album offers a compact survey of television animation music spanning several decades. It combines classic Hanna-Barbera themes with music from the late-1990s Cartoon Network era in which Fulton was actively composing for animation.
The Original 1999 Release
The original Cartoon Medley package promoted itself as “A Hearty Serving of Cartoon Network’s 38 Greatest Hits.” Kid Rhino released the collection in association with Cartoon Network. The album was designed around a playful television-dinner concept, with cartoon characters and food imagery appearing throughout the packaging.
The CD was also an enhanced multimedia release. In addition to the audio program, computer users could access games, activities and other material from the disc. The original instructions specified compatibility with Macintosh and Windows computers of the period, making the release a snapshot of late-1990s interactive CD technology as well as a music compilation.
The album production credits list Phil Baron as executive in charge of album production and Don Kitabayashi as producer. Bob Fisher mastered the album. The enhanced portion included additional production, artwork and Cartoon Network online game credits.
Bill Fulton and Cartoon Network
Fulton’s appearance on Cartoon Medley reflects a larger period of work in television animation. In addition to his contributions to I Am Weasel, he composed music for Cartoon Network productions during an era when the channel was developing a distinctive group of original animated series.
The album therefore represents more than a compilation credit in Fulton’s discography. It preserves music connected with his television composing work alongside some of the best-known animated themes of the period.
